Hello this is my first post ,searching for info on John & Esther I have there family,John & Esther were born around 1780?in the Parish of Berridale the children are Catherine/Andrew/Elizabeth/Alexander/Ann/Isabella.If anyone has any info about them i would be most gratefull.

Hi gordy, welcome to Caithness.org, this looks like them on FeeCEN 1841 John Sutherland age 55 Tailor born Caithness, Esther age 56 born Caithness and Alexander 14 born Caithness address Knocally Latheron. 1851 John 69 born Berriedale Esther 69 born Latheron Anne, Daughter Unmarried age 25 occ' Hemp spinner born Berriedale (no mention of Alexander) living same place as 1841 , Regards Flora

Hi Flora thanks you for a quick reply. I don’t think it is the same family cause Alexander was born 1811& married 1831?3 to Catherine Henderson he would have been 30 in 1841.This is the problem to much John & Esther’s around at the same period and same area many thanks.
