Jean Bremner may be the daughter of Alexander Bremner and Catherine Gunn
born in Wick 1795. I am descended from one of their sons.
I would like the other details from the banns for her marriage, thanks.

Hope this is of some use.

That's great Jean. The entry details made it practically certain
she is the Jean Bremner I am related to and I have been able to find
more info online. There are apparently references to her and family in a book
"Medonte - A Township Remembered". She emigrated to Canada with husband, surviving children
and pregnant in 1832, settling in Medonte, Ontario. And then died in 1834
and was buried on their military grant farm.

Her husband remarried twice and died age 83 ! So that tempers the picture
of the romance between the fisherman's daughter and the soldier. He is
said to have run away from an apprenticeship and joined the Black Watch
and changed his name from MacDonald! Someone gives his birth as "Parish
of Urquhart, County of Caithness" which surely should be Aberdeenshire.

It remains a mystery how and where they met .......... but thanks to you
I have added another branch to the tree!
