Great photos. Looked so unusual, I took some as well, not as good as yours though.
I wondered if it had any special significance - maybe Tugs would know. Hope it means this good weather is gonna continue.

was just saying that to my sister although where i live the clouds seem to be coming out like sunshine rays from a centre point. really weird!!!
Noticed them on the way back from wick. Was trying not to look at them as i was driving but got a couple of glances. The clouds looked really nice and unusual.
Noticed them while out at the Trinkie. Really amazing and unusual. I was going to come on here to ask Tugs about it.
Great photos neepnipper and I was amazed by the clouds today as well.
Would be interesting to find out whether they indicate weather patterns?

Just God out doing a bit of ploughing. Mind you, he wouldn't win many ploughing matches with that effort though.....
My grandad used to say it meant wind on the way.

That's clever, if you look from 3pm onwards it's quite amazing!

Mum phoned me telling me about the sky. I think what has happened is that the winds up above have broken up the sheet of cloud that's been over the UK and due to the wind direction it's done it in waves. I'll check at work tomorrow on the feasability of this explanation and get back to you all.

Amazing Photos, thank you for sharing
Wonderful photos Deeker!
Sean Batty (of STV weather) said that these clouds (can't remember the latin name) are caused by air flow coming from the mountains breaking up the cloud.
