I recently came across this in Aristotle's book on Ethics written aproximately 250yrs BC
"That is to say it is the duty of the statesman to create for the citizen the best possible oppurtunity of living a good life.It will be seen that the effect of this injunction is not to degrade morality but to moralise politics.You cannot make man better by an act of parliament."
Made me think that our current politicians ought to go back to school and learn this lesson.
