The Caithness Science Festival is here again next week.
All primary school children in Caithness will be taking part in various shows and workshops every day, two lecturers will talk at Wick and Thurso High Schools and on Tuesday night there is a public event, free and open to all, please come and sample the shows and workshops:
Tuesday 15th March, Pulteneytown Academy, Wick
6.30 - 7.00 pm, Mr Bug
Learn about giant cockroaches, snails and lizards, see a tarantula and scorpion at close-quarters. Hear about the animals' biology and lives in the wild.
6.30 - 7.30 pm, Extra Electricity
Investigate different electrical circuits using solar cells.
6.30 - 7.30 pm, K’nex Challenge
Can you work as a team to win the k’nex challenge?
7.45 - 8.45 pm, Galileo’s Greatest Mistake
The unicycle riding, juggling physics teacher, James Soper, returns with a new show of chemistry and gases. Find out about the composition of the air, its weight, pressure, the effects of a vacuum and the secrets of lighter and heavier than air flight. This show is accompanied by a multimedia presentation and more than a few explosions!
