Does any one happen to know where I might get it fixed or indeed if it is worth fixing?? Would I be just as well saving the pennies for a new one??

To start with the drawer wouldnt shut - now it does but it wont read the discs !!!????

Nope but saw someone advertising one for sale - so just a 'middleman'. have no idea about them - a pc is quite enough to cope with.

Usual problem with over used PS2 is that the lens needs cleaned

why take them in ??
there's no such thing as bad weather with kids just inappropriate clothing.
when i was a kid i was never in, never had all these fancy gadgets just a wicked imagination thats what is wrong with kids now adays dont spend enough time outdoors:(

It was great playing outside in the rain!! I remember getting stuck in the mud at the Bignold Park one time. I ended up having to leave my wellies in the mud and walked home in my socks lol.:Razz

no actually i played in the puddles, played footie went carting, played on my bike the list goes on.
kids nowadays rarely go out and play because they have all the latest gadgets that mean they can sit in the house and be lazy no wonder we are a society with obese kids.

Where I grew up we were always making forts and tree-houses. When it rained, which is often on the west coast of Canada, we'd usually be inside our forts or planning a new one.

TV was only allowed on Sunday night, to watch "World of Disney" and the hockey game; never on a school night, even during the Stanley Cup season. My parents were stricter about tv than I am with my kids, but they still watch much less than their mates.

Unless the discs are damaged then it is likely that the lens needs a clean as was mentioned. Alternatively the laser could be damaged. If that is the case then I would not recommend a repair unless you know of someone who could do it cheaply. A new ps2 will set you back around £95, second hand will be cheaper.

The Playstation 3 is released on 17th November this year and it plays the ps2 games. However the price is a bit steep. They are listed as being 499 Euros (£337) for the 20gb hard drive version and 599 Euros (£405) for the 60gb hard drive version.

No doubt they will be going like hot cakes, even at those prices, with Christmas on the horizon and there will be the usual mystery sell-outs in shops and inflated prices on eBay. (Honest guv, we never got our supply in. Now pardon me while I take this rather large box to the post office)

It is basically a repeat of the ps2 scenario where secondary sellers were asking between £600 and a £1000 for one. There were even death threats over it!! Resident Evil? Indeed!!
