I have just discovered a little about subscribing to a thread.
If you post to a thread, it appears that you may be automatically and "nominally" subscribed to it (by the little green check mark that appears against the thread name in the forum). This makes it easier to check through the threads that have interested you.
On one such occasion, here is what I did. I went back to the top to "Thread Tools" and unsubscribed from the thread. Then immediately re-subscribed to the thread, which allowed me options as to how to be notified by email of new postings on that thread. Handy!
