Newly Promoted Camps1 recorded their 3rd win of the season, beating the on form Crown1 side in a 6-5 thriller.
With the first 4 frames being shared, Camps1 captain Liam Ewart played a great frame to put his side 3-2 up. However, the Crown team are known for their battling attributes and won three of the next four frames to go 5-4 ahead. Andrew Mcleod, George Smith and William Ewart then combined well in their trebles frame to take the match to a deciding frame. And it was Camps1 player Kenny Park that potted the vital black ball and clinching victory for the Camps1.
The Francis Street Club have had an eventful week as they secured a place in the semi finals of the Rockwater Shield by beating the Commercial in a tie-breaker frame. Both teams then met in a league match, and it was the same story as the FSC showed they truly are the masters of tie-breakers with Alan Stewart potting the winning black to defeat The Comm 6-5. Lee Kerr of The Commercial remains on top form, recording a total clearance in his match.
Blackstairs1 also won 6-5 when they faced off against the Sinclair Bay, and are now back on track for a title challenge.
League title holders Camps2 are having an up and down season, after losing to the Crown1 last week they bounced back in style defeating the Blackstairs2 10-1. Ryan Cook was the only player to win a frame for the blackstairs beating Ryan Carter in a tight frame. Carter made up for his singles loss with 7 and 6 ball clearances in his doubles and trebles. But the man of the match went to David Hendry as he made a marvelous 8-ball total clearance in his singles frame.
The Division 1 title race is hotting up, and all teams are aware that every frame is vital incase it comes down to frame difference. This season is shaping up to be the most closely contested and exciting league in recent history.
