...but which one are you?
Took Fido out at 6.00 this morning and there was an exeptionally bright star to the South East. My guess is that it is Venus - but it was incredibly bright even for that.
I tried to get a better look with my el cheapo pocket binoculars, definitely a planet, but not enough focus to get a decent look.
And I managed to see a meteorite, presumably part of the Gemenid shower?
I thought that was the International Space Station  It was bright enough this morning to create a halo in the thin cloud.

Nice one.
I saw a meteorite on the way to work just now, sweeping North East as it fell. Looked like it was heading on a crash course for Dunnet!

Indeed, it was Venus. With Saturn also visible to the south and a bit higher over the horizon.

Sure it wasn'y part of the baby shower I saw mentioned on here the other day?

It sounds like Venus. We were having this discussion in our house only over the past weekend and we found the attached link pretty useful:

You just pop in the month/time etc and a map comes up for the UK.

Yes they are actually correct. The Planets do make a noise.
I used to hear them but then I discovered tinfoil ;)

Yes they are actually correct. The Planets do make a noise.
They certainly do.
My favourite is 'Mars', lots of noise there, But Manfred Manns' version of 'Jupiter' is pretty damn good too.

Hi Orkneycadian,
I'm originally from the south west of England and we use the word 'gurt' for big.
It makes my kids laugh when I use this word, but no doubt when I am no longer around, they will continue to use it!
