You got to hand it to the crows, I hung out some fat balls on a string from the clothes line, it didn't take them long to work out, balancing on the clothes line they pulled the string up until they could grip the fat balls and rip into it, all the bits that were falling off fed the little ones finch's etc, amazing to watch them working it out:confused

Hate the darned creatures. Our neighbours have hundreds of em roosting in their garden and land and every time I fill up the seed feeder and table those darned crows are at it and polish the lot off in minutes - costing me a fortune.

I've modified the bird table so that they cannot access it and only the smaller species can. They don't seem able to cling on to the peanut feeder but whether this is because they're just not interested in peanuts I don't know. Hmmmmm if it is the peanut feeder they can't grapple with I may try the fat balls in it, perhaps the little birds stand a better chance.

I wouldn't be so bothered if the food wasn't so expensive. I put loads of different things out for the different species so I refuse to feed the crows.

I wish that some of my staff are as good at handling tools as these guys
