View Full Version : Hs it snowed in England ?
Just wondering if it had snowed in England at all, I thought I heard a little bit about it on the news.
C3....
Isn't Gatwick closed? A friend in Bristol is unhappy as they've had only a dusting of snow there so far.

London has some but the Oxford area is pretty clear as is the S-West side of the country. My OH was supposed to be on a flight home from Gatwick today but seeing as it was closed he decided to drive it last night!!! He said it was all reasonable until he hit Scotland then the Glasgow area was very deep but it got better the further North he got.
Home now - the journey took 14 hrs and would normally take him 12.

Nah, can't have.
You know what southern softies are like, we would have had to put up with tedious reports from 'on the spot' reporters stood next to some snow whilst telling us that they were stood next to some snow......followed by a reading out of emails from angry viewers unable to get to Matalan and who felt that Islam was to blame or the EU - or those gypsies anyway.......
...uh, hang on a minute....
Same here.

I thought there must have had a wee bit because I switched on the BBC News Channel and the only news as far as I could see was Englands Football bid for the world cup and Englands weather.
Maybe they should re-name it to EBC.
I switched the tv off as there wasnt any decent news on and I didnt want to listen to how London has come to a standstill again just like last year.

Nice bit of creosoting on that shed.
Pity it's wonky, mind.
The shed, not the creosote, that is.

Don't know about England - just had a text from Son in Germany, who's on a train right now - says it's really thick snow, but the train is running on time - don't know what the problem is in UK...

Probably the over zealous PC Health & Safety rules here. Stop everything until a 2 day risk assessment is carried out.

And Germans aren't bureaucratic?! Anyway much as I hate a lot of the health and safety thing I think it's more the infrastructure was built on the cheap or is too old and can't handle it.

Now that's where Hitler went wrong.
Instead of unleashing the might of the Luftwaffe upon these Septic Isles, they shoulda just told us that the transport infrastrucure would be efficient.
Thames Valley - 4cms last night mostly gone now.
