Week 5 in The Wick & District Pool League saw 2 on-form teams battle it out for a vital 2 points.
With Both Crown1 and The Francis Street Club on 6 points before the match, the winning team would be in great position for a title challenge.
The Francis Street Club quickly raced into a 5-1 lead, with only Bruce Davidson winning his singles match for The Crown.
The Francis Street Club struggled to win the 1 frame they required as The Crown went on to win all 3 doubles matches thanks to Colin Banks, Bruce Davidson and Alan Larnach bringing it back to 5-4.
The next frame seemed to last forever as both sides showed nerves, but Alan Steven showed great composure to pot the black and win the match for the Francis Street Club.
The Weather affected a few of the matches on Monday night, but it did not stop league leaders Bayview1 coming through to beat Blackstairs2 7-4 and keep their place at the top of the table.
Camps1 got their first win of the season thanks to Andrew Macleod as he won all his games to help his side to a 6-5 victory over Sinclair Bay.
In The Second Division there was an almighty battle as The Mountain Dew1 hosted The Crown2. The match came down to the deciding frame as it stood at 5-5. But Disaster Struck for George Baker as he potted both the black and the white giving the Mountain Dew an early christmas present and a 6-5 win.
All teams that did not play on monday are advised to play their game in hand as soon as possible and to submit their scores.
