What does this mean exactly? I dont mean in the Name sense (Friedrich, Frederick).....where did it come from.........not on Wikipedia, I've already been there!!!

I've always said "on the blink"
My guess would be "fritz" is the fizzing sound many electrical items make when dying? Just na guess though.

Used in what context?
I grew up with me Dad's cage bird, a German Roller Canary that was called Fritz...but I think that was just his Geordie sense of humour...great wee singer though!:)
Might have a relationship with the term 'Gerry Built' (you know, like Mercedes, BMW and Porsche) :lol:
