Monday Night saw some big turnarounds as the 2nd legs of the Rockwater Shield took place.
After being 6-4 down from the first leg, holders Camps2 had to beat Blacktairs1 6-3 or better. The Nerves showed in the first frame as Jimmy Riach eventually overcame Tam Sutherland, but Blackstairs1 levelled it at 1-1 thanks to Hamish New. The Next frame saw Camps' David Hendry face off against Stuart Mckenzie, in a quick frame Hendry had a chance of a total clearance but missed his last yellow. Mckenzie came to the table and made a marvelous 7-ball clearance to put his team 2-1 up. Camps2 Then took control of the match, winning 4 of the next 5 frames to go 5-3 up. With tension in the air, Camps2 knew they had to win the next frame. After a while of tactical play, Camps' Andy Mcwatt decided it was time to go for it. He played some amazing shots and pulled off a great clearance to win the match 6-3 putting his team through to the quarter finals.
The Exact same result Happened in the Mountain Dew derby, after being 6-4 down from the first leg Mountain Dew2 showed fighting spirit beating the first team 6-3.
Last years finalists Camps1 were 6-3 up from the first leg and started off well going 2-1 up against the Seaforth Club. But The Seaforth Club done the unimaginable by winning 5 frames in a row to win 6-2.
No Miracles happened in the Queens Hotel as they hosted Bayview1. A Great display of potting saw the Bayview team crush the Queens2 6-0. They will now face Blackstairs2 in the quarters as they won the 1 frame they required against the Crown2.
Francis Street Club and The Commercial both sailed through and will meet each other in the next round.
The Children In Need Pool Tournament takes place in the Camps Bar on Saturday 20th with trophies and prizes up for grabs. Names need to be in by 12.30pm and you can enter by contacting either the Camps Bar or the League Secretary.
