If you had the chance to design your own town/community, somewhere in Caithness, how would you begin? What would be your priorities? How would you lay it out? How do you establish your priorities? What size (of population) would you look for?

There are far more questions that would need to be asked and answered, but maybe these will come if this thread goes far enough.
If all those with a real interest in the ASDA matter, and also whatever is happening otherwise can deal with this then it might help answer where to plant ASDA.

For the purposes of this, create a place that most people would enjoy living in, and would be welcoming to visitors.

Priorities,

Community spirit encouraged by the following:

Good School with toddler and nursery provision

Community Policing available

Community Health care provision

Social centre for all to enjoy with sports/recreation provision

Shops with staff who are well trained in their stock and with good customer care skills.

Good Community Council so items can be discussed in relevance to the village or town.

Speed bumps and speed monitors to encourage safe town driving

Where I live most of the above is available or in the planning process.

What sort of size would you think ideal?
How would you lay out the town?
