What are the rules for this - do you need some kind of permission?
A bit diesel soaked rag and a match normally does the trick.
No need for permission if it is private and wont affect roads other houses etc.
As long as you don't get complaints you will be fine.
However some local councils have their own rules on these things (not too sure about Highland Council).
I cant find anything on the councils website (http://www.highland.gov.uk/) so I'd say go for it.

if it's gonna be a big(ish) fire, you should contact the Fire Brigade to let them know when/where you're having the fire and the times it's starting/finishing.
this is just in case they receive any calls from the public.
have fun !
Marshmallows on sticks...............
Jacket potatoes....
Cook as you burn!

Think it will be weather dependant!....Might end up lighting some candles inside and toasting marshmallows on them instead!!!
