I'm running Vista and lately my laptop has been locking up when I first start it up. Typically the browser and my homepage will load up ok but when I click on a link with the wee hand icon nothing happens.
When I get hacked off and click the mouse repeatedly the machine gives a loud beep and the wee hand locks and won't move.
Tried using a different browser but the same thing happens. When I reboot the machine the same thing often happens but once it's running properly it runs fine.
I've done virus scans with various utilities but there's nothing untoward there.
Reading back, I hope that you can make some sense of all that. Any input gratefully received.
