does any one else think the roads in wick particulary the south road are in a right mess ie looks like a patch work quilt full of potholes and not a pound of it haning the right way. costing motorists a small fortune in bearings springs and shock absorbers. so why do we pay road tax any way

Yes I totally agree with you there. The South Road must be the worst in Caithness. Feels like a roller coaster ride when you head out of Wick. Perhaps the Police with all their saved money can give a little to the Council to resurface. Scalesburn/Shore was resurfaced last week and it had no pot holes like the South Road has.

Its not just a problem in Caithness you should see the condition of the roads on Skye.You feel like your actually driving off road halve the time and the other halve is spent repairing stone chippings on your car.
Maybe we're unlucky but in the past year we've had three claims for a new windscreen and just now both cars need done again.

Wasn't it the Water Board who dug it up several times? Are they not responsible for the dreadfull condition?

How can the Council be busy chipping roads that dont need it the roads in Caithness that were chipped must have been needed to be done, and further more its not the Council thats to blame for the South Road as its Transerve who took over road traffic managment from Bear Scotland

Its the dentists that are at fault i reckon that at night they go out and dig the road up bit by bit

Few months later you have to take out a morgage to cover the cost of missing fillings etc !!! ;)
