Ah a C-47 guess i was pretty close with the DC 3 :)
Thanks for the better pics nice to see it with some detail :)
Interesting, I thought C47 was an Army transport designation. DC3 was the civilian equivilent and then there was different designation for the original airliner. But I am probably wrong because I get all my info from films

I hope you did not get ALL your info from a movie called Monkey on my Back [lol]
You'll be gettin' the spotters all fired up if yer takin yer info from filums.
HB-ISC -Douglas C47A-45-DL # 9995
"Ex USAF 42-24133, then NC65266, NC6K, N88Y, N88YA and G-BMCR. The Aircraft was bought by Classic Air and flew with them until Ju-Air took over the Aircraft.
HB-ISC is now flying in Swissair colors."
Sorry I missed it. I've always thought the DC-3 was a great design. It just looks right.
Due around midday today is an L39 Albatross, an old Eastern Block military trainer.
Not in the same league as a DC3 but it may interest some.

There's a great example of the military one at Camarillo airport near my house. It's called the China Doll, and has nose art by the same guy who did the Memphis Belle, Tony Starcer.
