Scalloped Oak is another moth of broadleaved woodlands and is rather locally distibuted in Caithness because of its habitat requirements. The adult flies in July and August having overwintered as an egg. The larvae feed on a range of broadleaved woody plants including Hawthorn and Birch in addition to Oaks.
