When I was a kid there was an alleyway in Thurso that I was afeared of because of the polis. It was whispered that that they had taken a boy down there and beaten him up - it was a place to avoid.
I know something of what really happened now - since I survived to grow up.
But it occurred to me to ask - I know the two coppers were transferred south - but whatever became of the Thurso boy?
Anyone know?

Aye hes still around. It was an interesting case. If your ever in Thurso there's a transcript of the trial, which was heard In Inverness High Court,
in the reference section of the library.
there was a thread on here about it a while back wasnt there?

Yes, he still lives locally. But I don't know if he wants his name dragged through it all publicly after so long.

I don't know either.
I am asking a straight question about a cause celebre from when I was a kid that was, at that time national news.
You wish me to expunge my curiosity on the grounds that he lives locally?
There was a thread about this story at the start of the year

Thankyou Gollach. That's quite interesting- it did not go far though.
All I was wondering was what had become of him- that's all. End of.

Why bring this up again John? Young Rattles had his 15 mins fame, and has lived on it since it happened. [disgust]

I have not brought it up 'again'
I was not a member of this forum at the beginning of the year when the other thread was started.
Thurso is not headline news every day. You think I should not be curious to know the end of something that made an impact on me when I was living there?
Being human I like to know how things turned out. You know the sort of thing - has he enjoyed his job, career, had a family, etc.
Rattles?
Idle curiosity. But of no-one wants to comment then I am cool with that.

My curiousity is now satisfied so to avoid ripples I shall close this thread.
