Are there more house sparrows about this year, or is my new feed mixture attracting every sparrow in the county?:D

I think that there are more. We have a lage flock, if that is the right term, they are feeding their young and I see some of them are gathering nesting material. Do not know if they have second clurches. Lovely wee birds and a pleasure to watch

We've got loads here too, there's a punch-up on the bird feeder most mornings:

We must be feeding them too well!
Counted 30 today queueing up, was quite funny as they were almost pushing each other off the fence.

I've got a lot more at my feeders now than I had a few months ago, but I think it's just because all the adults are showing their babies where the dining room is.

Have about 50 at my feeders today which is a lot more than usual even with the babies.:D

Good to see since their numbers have been declining.

Great photo cazmanian minx!

Its good to see that the sparrows are about in good numbers and breeding well.:Razz

The House sparrow (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/h/housesparrow/index.aspx) is now surprisingly on the red list, which is why I was delighted to see so many feeding at my table this year. They seem to disappear sometimes for almost a day and then come back with a vengeance, I suppose they are spreading themselves around the neighbourhood to see who is feeding what.:D

Great picture, CM
