Hi
I need of some advice, two years ago I got a gooseberry bush , last year there was only 3-5 gooseberries on it, this year it is full of them but last week all the gooseberries became covered in a mould like substance , the greenery has not been affected just the berries, Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and how I could sort it if I can at all?
Look forward to any advice.

your gooseberries have "Powder Mildew",.Buy a suitable fungicide from eg Homebase,Tesco(Wick) or gardenshops.

Thanks a lot.
Days before there wasn't anything wrong with them so what may have been the cause? I am new to this gardening lark especially where the fruit bushes I planted are concerned. lol

Is it actually furry or is it like a film? If it's film like it's like the stuff you get on grapes. It means they are ripe. If you are planning on making wine with them don't wash it off as it helps with the fermentation :)
