The product key is either on the box you bought it in, or on a bit of paper in the box usually.

Did it come already on your computer? or did you buy it?

Aw that is weird. If you have all the laptop books and information it should be somewhere within there. If not then maybe wait for some of the more techie guys to help.

Are you sure it wasnt a trial version of it either?

Almost certainly a trial version - PCs often come with MS Office 2007 60-day trial and it works after the trial runs out but with limited function (AFAIK).

If you want to buy then it's going to cost a fair amount so I'd recommend downloading the free OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) instead as it's compatible with MS Office (although I'm not sure how compatible with 2007 files).

Or find a copy of Office.

Or find a copy of Office.
Why not give OpenOffice a try as suggested.
Why encourage Microsoft (especially with the way they imposed the new docx etc formats) trying to lock us in to their products.
Just as an aside - I have had cases where Word documents will not open in MS Word, but open OK in OpenOffice.

If you do really want it, and are a student with a username@uni.ac.uk email address, you can get a cheap copy:
