yes Fran it was Del Shannon who I remember it being sung by. I have it on my i-pod!! I am sure I even have the single somewhere still. Would need to have a look around. It is available for down loading though.

God - I alway thought it was Sidney Devine that sung that! I'm sure he did a version. Ah well life is all about learning .

When I read this posting the name Del Shannon did not click. I've looked up books and note that the song Kelly was a hit for Wayne Gibson in September 1964. I recall the song Kelly as going -'We are so in love what more can I do, How do you tell your best friend that I'm in love with you. Oh Kelly please please tell me etc etc'.

Is this the song you mean?

Thank you all so much for your helpful replies to my question. i knew I had the song but didn't know where to look as I didn't know who the singer was.thanks to your help i looked for my Del Shannon tape and there it was. I have given it to my friend who has been searching for it and he will be playing it http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_7.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNfox000) at his daughters wedding , and of course you will all have guessed her name, as she was named after the song. thankyou again.
