laptop display broke

My dell inspiron 1520 laptop has a broken display. The display works fine on an external monitor.
I suspect the inverter. Anyone had similar problems?

how old is this, it might well be covered by SOGA
if so time to contact your retailer.

1st we need to know how old this is
there is no good leaping around inside if its less than 3yrs as the retailer it was brought from should repair it foc under soga rules [sale of goods act]
