I know it seems so simple, but i have never tried making it before.

How do i make a decent coleslaw? I am sick of buying it and its got too much onion in it for me.

How do ya make some awsome coleslaw then? :D

Sorry just to add i just want plain coleslaw, nothing fancy! If anyone knows how to make the stuff from Y-Not then let me know!

thinly slice a whole small white uncooked cabbage.
peel and top and tail 2/3 carrots and grate them,
finely chop a small white onion.
mix together in a large bowl,
add a little salt and pepper,
add a good dollop of decent mayonnaise ie: hellmanns (if its cheap you'll taste it!)
enough that it looks like coleslaw!
a tiny splash of lemon juice.
mix again and put in fridge for an hour or two for vegetables to soften.

thats how i used to make it for the hotel. everyone loved it!

ps if you like cheese coleslaw just ad a little grated cheese

The place I used to work had a simple method but tasted gorgeous, used to love it on toast - Yum, could eat some now. It was just shredded white cabbage and shredded carrot bound with good quality mayo - results in very rich, creamy coleslaw.

What we done at the hotel were I worked was use half mayo and half salad cream to this shreaded vegetable mix.
