John Thurso to head banking probe inquiry
Inquiry will hear evidence in Inverness
FAR North MP John Thurso is to head up an influential inquiry into Scotland's banking standards.
John Thurso has been appointed to lead the work for the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, set up in the wake of the Liborate-rigging scandal.
The inquiry will focus, in particular, on its impact on remote communities in the north and special evidence-gathering sessions will be held in Inverness on December 3.
John Thurso said that the panel’s findings would inform the commission's recommendations and potentially lead to new legislation for a shake-up of the sector.
