Thanks for the heads up MPH. I had a dream last night that I had my first ever waxwing in the garden today (I sooo want to see one!), alas t'was not a premonition, lol! Still, I'll put my apples out in the morn.
According to one of the bird forums the waxwings are congregating in large numbers in Sweden.
A single bird has been seen in Stromness,my brother saw it today,he also saw a flock fly overhead
so be on the lookout.Get those apples out in your gardens.

They're late!!!
This time last year there was over 1000 in Castletown, probably one of the best birding spectacles I have seen. Not pinning my hopes on such a good year again this year, but heres hoping I am completely wrong. Blackcaps seem to be todays influx. I have had the apples out for a week but at least the blackbirds are enjoying them.
Away with the birds
Blackcaps in my mums garden in Stromness today too.
Niccceee, sadly didnt get any myself.
