Excellent street shot.I think you've got that technique mastered and i do like that lovely blueish tone of the beach shot.
Hi folks,
Here's a couple taken this weekend. Saturday at Thurso Xmas lights & Sunday at Dunnet Beach. Hope you enjoy.

both are lovely Deemac
I've not been brave enough yet to try night photography - will get round to it eventually I daresay, just don't want to look like a prat who doesn't know what they are doing, which would be correct
Really like the 1 of the Christmas lights.
Agreed with MPH. Start at Scrabster. Nice and peaceful at night and lots of lovely water reflections.
Bring a tripod and remote trigger, ISO100, f11 (or more if you want a longer shutter speed), manual focus (set to infinity) and your off.
The camera club is also doing a night photography street session on the 18th January if you want to come along.

I too went out with the camera on Saturday afternoon and came across Deemac in the town centre. A great day for photography, clear skies, hard frost and high tide. Some photos below:
Nice pair Deemac and lovely set Silver - wd both!
Love your bridge shot Silversurfer. Nice set

Great shots Silversurfer, love the santa in the window shot.
yes I did see that but 18th Jan is my daughters 18th so think I might have other plans for the night unless she is planning on going out with her underage mates!
I haven't got a remote trigger - do I need one or can you just use the camera's self timer? and what is an infinity setting <rummages thru book to find it>
ok found out what infinity is thanks to husband!

Love the one of the bridge, great colours
Deemac,
The first ones excellent, very effective.
silversurfer,
Like the window shot, and the beach photograph is good.
dragonfly,
Yup, you can get away with the self timer. Go and play, set to manual, take an exposure at meter recommendation, one at +1, and one at +2 on the scale in the viewfinder, change the shutter speed to get this variation, preview the results on the screen, pick the best setting and then use that as your base to start from. Have fun.
Oh WOW, lovely shots.
Are you a proffesional tog ?
I couldn't resist having a wee edit with this one. Any better?

OK I've got to ask - is this a trick question? I've saved them both, opened them up and can't see any real difference!!! I'm sure the more eagle-eyed might but I'm lost. Needle & haystack come to mind
I thought it was only me that couldn't see the difference, thanks for the previous two posts.
A wee crop top and bottom. An improvement.
