    Default Friday morning blues...

    Wake up this morning
    At a quarter to eight,
    A busy day beckons
    And already I'm late!

    Jump out of bed quickly
    And get in the shower,
    But this Friday morning
    The shower has no power!

    Get dressed in a hurry,
There's a hole in my sock!
    And no sock that matches,
    Now that is a shock...

Put some bread in the toaster
    It emerges all black!
    These were the last slices
And more bread I do lack.

    Bolt down some bran flakes
    And turn on the pc,
But the darn thing keeps crashing
    Oh -fiddle di dee!!

    On this Friday morning
    I sure have the blues
    What about other Orgers?
    Let's have all your news!

    Thumbs up Morning

    Things went well
    The kids were good
    They didn't annoy me
    as they usually do.

    The washing machine
    had broken down,
    The repairs were done
    the washing is on.

    The Tesco shopping
    is on its way.
I can drink tea with milk
    during the day.

    The sun has come out,
little one is over the moon.
    He can go outside
    in his wellington boots.

    Going to visit my friend
    looking forward to that.
    My little one can
    play with his mate.

    Teenager still in bed
What will wake the sleepy head?
    Maybe turn on the light,
give the boy a helluva fright?

Tonight, hubby going out for a drink,
I won't need to kick up a stink.
Will put it in the Groat
I can actually get to use the remote.

Angela & Mccaugm you have cheered me up no end, I got send home from work today, as I had head cold and my boss did not think I was in a fit state to be inflicted on the Visitors. I was feeling down in the dumps, both with the cold and the feeling of rejection, until I read your posts, ty keep up the good work, you have both made an owld mannie happy

    Default Friday Morning Blues

    Everyone's away
    And I'm all alone
    Time for a lie-in...
And then I hear the phone.

    Rushing down the stairs
    In my new py-jams
    I bang my little toe
And shout a few 'oh damns'.*

    I pick up the phone
    Swallowing the pain
    A recorded advertisement
So I slam it down again.

    Time for breakfast
    But the coffee's running low
    The blueberries are off
    And the PC's going slow.

    I scan the general forum
    And see all's not well
Is it me they're on about?
But my bacon's ready now...ah the smell!

*for rhyming purposes only. I confess I said something worse.

Default Nice to cheer folk up.

I enjoyed writing the poem and loved reading the others. Glad that I cheered up a few sad souls. xx

    Default Friday Morning Blues

A lassie got up in the morning
    Just as day was a-dawrning
    Now what she should wear?
    Should she tint her hair?
    Such problems caused multifarious yawrning.

So she staggered off to the shower
And was there for over an hour
Mid the soap and the bubbles
    She lost all her troubles
She was Queen atop of the Tower.

She sat down on breakfast to dine
The bacon buttie tasted just fine
    Blast! She did utter
    As a trickle of butter
Ran down her front in a line.

But soon she was out in the town
    Wearing a spendid red gown
    Swaggering past building site
    Hoping a builder might
Whistle, as he put a brick down.

But then she awoke with a start
    She’d overslept- silly tart !
So she reached for her shoes
    And her stockings and trews
On her face the make-up did clart !!

Got out of bed Friday morning
    Somewhere between seven and eight
    A cloudy day was dawning
Better hurry, don't want to be late!

Didn't feel like moving too fast
    I'm never a morning lark
And before I even knew it
It was eight, a quarter past!

Just time for a cup of coffee
    I needed that caffeine jolt
    Brushed hair, applied my makeup
Then out the door I did bolt!

Got to work just on time, thanks to hubby
He was my chauffeur for the day
He knows how to fight the traffic
    In his own experienced way!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!

    Default The morning after Friday.......

We’ll do our best – it is such fun
You’ll soon find out what we have done
So off you go, but wrap up warm
I think up north, there’ll be a storm.

My day’s begun in usual style
After my shower I ran for twa mile
Then porridge oats and a cup o’ tea
But I know darn well you wont believe me !

The sun is shining and all looks good
I’d cut the grass or chop some wood
But first and foremost I think you’ll agree
I’d better buy some things for tea.

Today perhaps a nice mild curry
Wont take too long- I’m aye in a hurry,
As I have some ditties I wish to write
For Angela returns tomorrow night .

Now what can I say and how should it rhyme
Look at the clock! I don’t have much time
Oh bother and blast I think that must do
So now I must go – Ta ta the noo !!

    Oh Angela, Angela, Angela dear!
You've scarpered off and left us here
Wrestling with metre and rhyme for a ditty
Oh what a hard taskmaster! Have you no pity?
Though keen to oblige, my muse is unclear
And dog'grel is all I can muster, I fear.

Angela dear, are you back yet
    From your weekend away?
Hope you had a wonderful time
    Every minute of the day!

Hope you enjoyed a change of scene
We all could do with that
But no such luck for this gal here
At home here I am sat!

My time will come, I have no doubt
    In days of warmer weather
A day trip even is so nice
    For hub and I together!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!

    Default Monday morning

    Twas on a Monday morning
    The sun was shining bright
I jumped up and dressed myself
For I’d slept well all the night.
Now what to do the day I mulled
    The sky was shining blue
I’ll put on my fine new hat
And go an visit you !

    Breakfast over, I’m all coiffured
And ready to start the day
So off for the bus - my heart is light
And I sing there all the way.
But the bus is late I have to wait
For an hour or two or more
    And now it’s started raining
So I shelter in a door.

Then who should pass but Willie MacKay
    Looking such a swell,
We joined the school together –
My hasn’t he done so well !
They say he’s living in the sooth
In a hoose so big and fine.
Now he shakes my hand in greeting
And asks me oot to dine !

So off we go to Cardosi Jo
At last the rain has stopped
We sit doon in a corner
    The question then he popped.
‘Oh Nellie will ye merry me –
For I hev missed ye sair ?’
‘Oh Willie lad, of coorse I would’ –
An I patted at my hair.

‘But there’s wan thing I must tell ye
    Before I go insane
‘My name it isna Nellie –
No lad, my name is Jane ! ‘
At that poor Willie took my hand
    And held it awfu’ tight
The tear that ran doon on his cheek
It made a sad, sad sight.

‘Och what is in a name dear lass –
    It’s ye I’ve always loved.
An thocht o’ ye on every day
As o’er the world I roved.’
I heaved a sigh and rubbed my eye –
But Losh – I was still in bed
But the dream I had, was the best I had
So there’s no more to be said !!

    Default Home Again Blues....

Here I am again -back home
    Trying to compose a 'pome'

    Had a lovely time away
    Really did enjoy my stay

Snow and hail but sunshine too
Different things to see and do

Home again, the house feels quiet
    And what's more I'm on a diet!

But Orgers' verses bring such cheer
Thank you all for being here!

    Angela xx

Angela, glad you had a good time
Despite the weather not being fine.

We've had such fun here rhyming away
It certainly helps me enjoy my day.

You're on a diet? Well join the club
For me it's salad and low cal grub!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!
