Forgot to say - we served this with Lolabelle's creamy prawn curry and they were excellent together.
Also known as Aloo Gobi and it is a healthy dish.
1 lb potatoes, (cut in 1" cubes)
2 tblsp veg oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 fresh chilli (chopped)
1 lb cauli broken into florets (or ½lb cauli and ½lb broccoli)
teaspoon ground coriander
teaspoon ground cummin
¼teaspoon chilli powder
½teaspoon ground turmeric
½teaspoon salt
chopped fresh coriander to garnish
serve with tomato and onion salad and pickle of your choice
Par boil potatoes for 10 minutes, drain and set aside.
Heat oil in large pan (wok if you have one) over a medium heat and fry cummin seeds for 2 minutes until they begin to splutter. Add the fresh chilli and fry for further minute.
Add cauli (add broccoli if you are using it) and stir fry for 5 minutes.
Add potatoes, spices and salt and cook for further 7-10 minutes until veggies are tender (or to your taste).
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve.

I will definately give this a go next time I make the prawn dish, it sounds yum.

Like you I always make mine in my karai,which becomes a wok when i am making chinese!!
Nothing beats the smell of the spices especially the cumin seed popping away.
