Tesco retail chain expands into U.S.A.

Just read that British retail chain Tesco opened headquarters for its U.S. division for planned rollout of grocery stores in California, Arizona and Nevada beginning next year. It currently has 150 employees in the Los Angeles area. It plans to open grocery stores first in the West to cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Phoenix, creating some 2,500 new jobs in the process. Any thoughts on this plan?

Kinda reminds me of when we went to Crete this August. In the middle of this small island when you least expect it up popped a 'Spar'.
Then while we were driving round, right in the middle of what seemed like nowhere we spotted a Lidl's.
I know it's a european supermarket but it's still strange to see one in the scrubland of crete.

Golach: thanks for the news input. I find Walmart the best place to shop here in Arizona due to product availability and price. We do have people bad- mouthing Walmart as well as other big box stores due to the fact that they drive the small mom & pop businesses out of competition. I will continue to shop with Walmart because they take it easy with my money.
