very difficult to get the depth of field right when working so close to a subject unless you have studio lighting (why dont they make these things mobile lol) but occasionally i do get lucky lol
If its profound what was the name of the golfer and what did he find?
Stunning photographs here, folks! I am really enjoying this thread!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!
Thank you astroman, yes that was the butterfly that eluded me.
I've photographed a few different butterflies at Dunnet Forest and for some reason found the Fritillery butterfly much harder to photograph than others. The photo posted was the only decent one from about 15 shots and was taken from quite far away (handy 10x zoom on my Olympus "compact").
My advice is to keep trying, you'll get a shot eventually. Of course, crawling through the undergrowth in full camoflage gear might also help with getting close enough - I was beginning to think I'd have to resort to that approach to get a decent photo

A 1991 Gallup survey indicated that 49 percent of Americans didn't know that white bread is made from wheat.
Thought the light behind this made a rather good effect, comments appreciated.
