    the count, your photos are looking very out of focus on my laptop, cannot se them properly, sorry.

    2little2late awe cataerpillars used to play them as a kid BUT here we have learnt NOT to go near them very nasty ( to man and beast) if it turns out to be The Processioanry Pine Caterpillar

    very difficult to get the depth of field right when working so close to a subject unless you have studio lighting (why dont they make these things mobile lol) but occasionally i do get lucky lol
    If its profound what was the name of the golfer and what did he find?

    I've photographed a few different butterflies at Dunnet Forest and for some reason found the Fritillery butterfly much harder to photograph than others. The photo posted was the only decent one from about 15 shots and was taken from quite far away (handy 10x zoom on my Olympus "compact").

    My advice is to keep trying, you'll get a shot eventually. Of course, crawling through the undergrowth in full camoflage gear might also help with getting close enough - I was beginning to think I'd have to resort to that approach to get a decent photo
