Nice one Rheghead- I do like this image. Make a strong backing for a graphic layout.

Nice thread - here's a couple of my recent efforts playing with the new Sigma f1.4, 30mm prime. A nice little beasty - bought for speed at low lighting scenarios (without flash), but I'm very taken by it's depth of field capabilities. First one - Fern in Dunnet Forest, second - tree blossom (is it a cherry tree?) at Castletown's graveyard (creepy!!)

Thank you. Great control of depth of field, Deemac. I've a lot of Ferns in the garden so I will try and experiment with them.

Rheghead,I agree with Deemac, the ropes are excellent, it's a subject I am always drawn too.
dan67, The Sea Holly is a stunner.
Deemac, congrats on the new lens, interesting lens, the results are excellent, my preference is the fern - great use of depth of field.
    Scunner, beautifully lit.

Some cracking photos in this thread. It's amazing what can be seen when you look closely at things.

Sapphire2803 - love the dandelion seed head - just wish there weren't so many like this in my garden!

I think I've posted this one in another thread, but this is my favourite macro photo from recent times. It was taken last year just as nature provided it (in my mother-in-laws garden).

The shower of rain shortly before the photo was taken added some interest in the form of water droplets on the flower.
