Thread: JBiA @ Holburn

  1. #1

    Default JBiA @ Holburn

Playing The Holburn on Saturday the 10th of April... James Brown Is Annie.

Featuring Marc "the Dalry Llama" Mowbray on guitar, Nice Guy Eddie on keyboard, Mr. Isaac Sutherland on the Purdie Shuffle, and yours truly on public saxophone, if groove-based tunes in a 4/4 time is your thing, do come along. Free drumstick sweeties to all who can guess Marc's weight.

yus.....I'll be attending drum kit & all. yeehaw

& Marc's wait. A safe guess is he's heavier then me & just lighter than santa claus with a full sack

(wonder if Marc ever looks on the org??)

Marc doesn't read text messages, far less the Org. Indeed, next year, we'll be organising the Slim Fast Tour in his (and my) honour.

I suppose I should also take this opportunity to say JBiA do not - repeat, do not - play 'pub classics', Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, or anything else that comes anywhere near a Tesco Rock CD compilation. Saying that, there's every likelihood Marc will try to squeeze in an acoustic cover of Plush during the break. Feed him if you dare.

Final bump for Saturday's gig at the Holburn.

If anyone is around in Inverness on Friday, however, we'll be playing at Madhatters from 11pm.

The Daily Record may refer to JBiA as possibly the weirdest band in Scotland, but you have to admit it has the best groupies of any band, weird or main stream.

    Good luck tonight!

JBiA - Probably the best live band I've seen in a long long time.

Kind words, zeb'. Didn't see you there; you should have introduced yourself.

Was fun, as always, to play. Sadly, the 11.50pm-exodus-to-Skinandis is as popular as ever.

    Maybe next time Pepsi

I would advise anyone to go have a taste of JBiA's funky rhythms tbh. Possibly a new act in my favourites. I've always had a soft spot for pure funk.
