Fantastic! Where did you get that from?
from an old flagstone fence
That is really impressive! I would love to find one of those ;-) I wonder what it is....
raven its fish fins
Great picture highlander it's good to know there are some things almost as old as golach!
really cool
no amount of darkness can drive out darkness
only light can do that.
I just wonder where is the rest of the body???? :-))
Raven, heres what happened to the rest of the body, the fish died and sank to the bottom of the sea, then it began to decompose, and filled with gas, the fins fell off and the body floated to the surface, over a period of time many layers of silt settled over the fins, compressing them, and fossilising them.
g'day highlander, just a quick one for you,we had an artical in our sunday paper about this place up north called Richmond it is between Townsville & Mt Isa,in 1989 a bloke came across a fossle on his property, called the museum, and they uncovered a load of them,in the old days it was an inland sea,now it is a great tourist place, they have what they call moon rocks, creek stones that were rounded from when the water was there, thats just to put you in the picture, turns out my neighbour has a few of the moon rocks in his garden plus a box of fossils and I took a few photos of them, question? can I post them on your thread! Robin
