Talking In the doghouse, (smoking and it's perils)

Well, it's like this, yesterday I was doing some housework as I am a new-age man and I was hoovering with the wifes new dyson and having a fly smoke as:
1: I am supposed to have given it up and:
2: I have a bet on with the wife that I can stop for a month and see how it goes.
Well, anyways, I was hoovering away and suddenly I heard the front door open, cig stuck in mouth, panic set in, so I dropped the cig on the floor, 'laminate' and hoovered it up thinking hey, problem solved.......Wrong.
She comes through the sitting room door and I was cool as a cucumber, how was your day, blah, blah, blah when suddenly she noticed a strange red glow then eventually flames inside the dust chamber.
She was furious, not at me but at the manufacturer because I said it must be an electrical fault, (and she believed me).
Well naturally I had to come clean as to what had happend as there was no-way the company wouldn't have figured out what happened and refused to refund our money.
Now I am in the doghouse untill further notice.

Serves you right, pultneytooner, you deserve everything you get.

How dare you mess with your wife's favourite Dyson you really should learn to leave her stuff alone.
You would never have caught me doing anything like that. Pots, pans, kettles, sinks, washing machines etc. were things I refused to touch on the grounds that I might damage them and make things difficult for her!

I really can't understand why she left when I was so considerate as to not interfere in her duties.

Take a tip, tell her how wonderful an open coal fire is in a living room, it makes them really homely.
Animals I like, people I tolerate.
