    Wink Golden Plover

I saw a most amazing sight last week whilst coming home from work.

I saw a field full of Golden Plover and two fields on there was about another 1/3 of a field of these same amazingly gorgeous birds.

Without exaggerating, there must have been at least 800-1000 of these birds taking refuge in these fields.

It was on the Thurso - Shebster road, across from the Garage.

I saw some more yesterday on the same road but in fields on the same side as the Garage, not as many grouped together but still an impressive sight.

Well worth a quick trip out around teatime some night. I don't know how long they stay in the area for before moving on. Maybe someone else knows?

    Thanks

I haven't seen a solitary Golden Plover since I was a child! I imagine it must have been thrilling to see so many gathered together. Would have loved to have gone to see them, but unfortunately we live on the other side of the county.
