My two faves are Casket Garden and You, Me and a Drum Machine. Two great ensembles that i sadly didnt get to see live.
Im bored.
There have been some absolutely dreadful names in Caithness band history....
But who has best name in Caithness??
Quite frankly I like Weekend Wars the best!!

"But primarily, the drummer's supposed to sit back there and swing the band." The actual Buddy Rich
Good post.
My favourite has to be from the heady days of Wick High School and we had "Starbuck & The Jaffa Cakes" playing at a few Battle Of The Bands.
Genius!

No Love For Frank. Best Thurso High band EVER! I'm slightly biased though....
Stenching Mr. Stanley.......
Whatever happened to 'Dramstein'?
Working On Behalf Of The Community!
another name that cracked me up was "Shanty Moses"
I think Metal Attakk is no a bad name actually. The Gunslinger might have thought of it but my germanic twist on the spelling was pretty neat.
Remember the gig in mackays hotel? The stage was swimming with spilled drinks. What a waste. Good fun though. Then back to Thurso in time for the Gunslingers wife to catch him out on the cctv.

Who were You, Me and A Drum Machine? Quite like that name!
The Pepsichallenge can take all the credit as far as i can mind.

I'm sure Stuart MacGregor's band was often referred to as: Me, You, and a Fag Machine. Myself and John Miller take credit for coming up with Stenching Mr. Stanley, but what about the Massey Ferguson & The Barnyard Oddities? I still think AC/DC Thomson is a great name.
Metalman - I spotted your old Discrep' pals (Custer, Morris, Taylor, and Gower anyway) on Facebook. At least I saw pix of a jam they were having. No pink Washburn in sight, and who can forget Megadave? Ah, nostalgia.
Aye i noticed that there's been almost a total reformation of Discrepency, except minus The Gunslinger and He who shall not be named. Surely the time is right for megadeth covers, white massive-tongued sneakers and dedicating "this next song to the memory of cliff burton."
"But primarily, the drummer's supposed to sit back there and swing the band." The actual Buddy Rich
Nah, that was nothing to do with Discrepancy, that was a brief reformation of 'Never Again', a short-lived yet interesting endeavour by the lads, notable for their strange brave idea of 'writing their own songs'.
They played a gig in Wick once, at a 'battle of the bands' type thing in the Norseman, of all places. I remember an incident in the Newmarket too, involving a fumbled plectrum right before the solo in 'Every Rose Has It's Thorn'.
Ah, times they are a-changed, all right.
"It makes my blood burn with metal energy..."
Either Shanty Moses or Mini-cab Ride!
Mini-cab ride was a school band and was an anagram of the legendary teacher Iain Mcbride!
I don't really like band names named after songs for some reason!
Weekend wars is good but its a pain in the ar*e searchin for them on youtube! lol
anyone remember an early 90s THS band called "Craig's Wooly Jumper"
