making new friends

hi

i have been living in wick for almost 3 years now. i would like to find out if theres any friendly social groups or get togethers, that doesent involve either going to the pub or paying an entrance fee thats costly to me?

Anyway.....im planning on starting up a bookclub, that is if anyone shows an interest? i have nothing planned for it yet, if enough do seem interested, i will arrange something.
