Realised I haven't posted any pictures in here for ages, so here's some deer from this morning - talk about right place, right time! Just wish it hadn't been raining with low cloud so I'd had better/faster light...

very nice, the stag has a decent amount of hinds, he must be worn out

Thank you It was on the B871 close to Kinbrace - from the map, I think that's Loch Achnamoine they're crossing. Basically I drove a big square (Armadale, Braetongue, Altnaharra, Syre, Kinbrace, Melvich, Armadale) on Sunday morning and saw about 200 red deer in total.

    As said before great shots.

Number one looks as if the stag is gathering his hinds and taking them away from another stag. We have been down the Hallidale and over to Syre watching the rut a few times now. It is hilarious to see and the noise is just brilliant, although I never saw the antler locking scrap that I would have liked to. Only alot of roaring chasing and male hormones. We saw one stag holding 40 hinds between Kimbrace and Syre. My photos were terrible
These photos sum it all up.

You certainly did and I looked at your flickr site. Wow some stunning shots of wildlife that I can only dream of matching. Really like the stags in the snow.
