not so keen on this technique myself but can imagine the original (if there was one) was just as stunning in its own way

Used to hate somewhat over the top HDR/tone mapped shots, now i love messing around to see what pops up,sometimes good results but more often than not, bad.
I like vivid and bold, whether it looks natural or not. This time next year i'll probably look at them and think "what the fffflipping heck was i playing at".
I've dug out the original.unfortunately photobucket is timing out on me.Will try again later.

    Okay,heres the original.

Got my feet wet as i slowly sank over my ankles on the spongy land.
Liked the sence of depth to this one

Your tweeked version is very beautiful but doesnt look real and I love the original so I'm one of the "fuddy duddies"

The original may be "authentic" but to me it is rather dull and bland...Each to their own as they say.One thing i never do with any of my photos is worry if they look "real" or not.I try to get a mood/feel/look that I like.Call it photographic art if you like.

I used to do a lot of oil painting when i was younger so i probably end up processing my photos similarly to the way i would have painted them and that is what gives me the most enjoyment out of photography.Sure its fun travelling around taking the photos but its the processing that i realy enjoy.
    Think i'm a photoshop addict.
