Thurso Camera Club Annual Photographic Exhibition 2009

Running from 28th September until 9th October in Caithness Horizons and Entry is FREE.

Come along and see the work of members of Thurso Camera Club and help them decide on what prints on display should be forwarded to the Annual 'Highland Challenge' Inter-Club Competition.

This is all part of the run up to the ‘Highland Challenge’ Inter Club Photographic Competition hosted this year by East Sutherland Camera Club in Brora on November 21st as the final 10 images for the event shall be chosen from those on display in the Gallery.

Each year Camera clubs throughout the Highland and Islands are invited to submit a maximum of 10 images each for assessment by an independent professional photographer for the prestigious ‘Highland Challenge 2009’ award.

The Clubs are: Thurso, Dingwall, Inverness, Cromarty, Nairn, East Sutherland and Shetland.

Last year saw first place taken by Dingwall(172.5 pts), followed closely by Thurso (166.0 pts) in second and Inverness (164.5 pts) in third place.

Final judging of the images for submission the ‘Highland Challenge’ shall take place on Wednesday 7th October with the assistance of club members, Independent Professional Photographers as well as the public vote (that’s where Caithness.org readers come in), so to help us decide why don’t you drop in before the 7th October and help us decide what ones you think Thurso Camera Club should take with them to Brora in November.
