    Default Lighting

At work there is a remote (windowless) garage which is to be used as an equipment store. It is too expensive to have mains electricity installed, but we need light (the light from the garage door opening is not quite enough, but would be inadequate as the days get shorter), I have tried various battery operated lights (costing less ten pounds, low voltage such as LED type), but find them too weak, apart from using a torch or using a generator, does anyone know of any good non-mains lighting solution?

Nothing beats a Good Storm Lantern using paraffin.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

I would rig up a 100Ah deep cycle battery, 20W amorphous solar panel, charge controller and 8 x 12V 1.2 W LED bulbs. You would roughly need 1 hour of daylight for each our of lighting.
