Caithness Moths - Red Sword-grass
This fascinating moth rests with its wings held close to its body so it resembles a piece of wood. It is another moth which emerges in autumn between September and November and feeds on ivy flowers and overripe blackberries. It overwinters as an adult in a sheltered position, to reappear in spring, between March and May, when mating occurs.
