    Default spikey spider id please

don' usually freak out over spiders, was wandering through the garden collecting seeds, and spotted a huge web, with the biggest spider i've seen in a while but what was even more impressive was the pincers and the spikey legs
    some id please

That looks kind of like the one that's been outside our house lately. To the kids (and my) utter horror the thing appears to have gone walk-about and we're all terrified he's moved into the house...

    It's a Garden orb-web spider - Araneus diadematus.
