Well first i tried here http://www.bt.com/broadband/ tells you what you could be able to get ie: 4mb 6mb 8mb ,depending on how far from exchange you are .
But still does not mention when it will all change so rang bt and they said they will start switching people to the higher rate from the 4th of april.

Well, it appears you can get dsl at forss also.

    http://www.samknows.com/broadband/phoneno.php

stick your phone number in, and it will confirm it.

4th of april eh? well, I look forward to it. No doubt this will take months, as there are million of lines to cross over, and we probably aint first in line, if you know what i mean.

Sorry about the spelling earlier, my hands were freezing!

Are you actually getting 8mb? I tried upgrading but all I get is the following message 'Unfortunately, your phone line will not support faster broadband access at this time. We are unable to increase your speed'.

ADSL Max does not give 8MB. It is variable up to 8MB based on the quality of your line.

    According to BT...

For Telephone Number 0184789**** on Exchange THURSO

Our initial test on your line indicates that you should be able to have BT Broadband with download speeds up to 4.5Mb.

If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the speed of service you wish to order.

Order BT Broadband online and get a FREE modem router saving you a £25 charge which applies if you order by phone.

Note: If you have an ISDN or Home Highway service connected to this number and you wish to purchase Broadband ADSL, this can be arranged through your Service Provider. You will only be able to keep one of your ISDN / Home Highway telephone numbers - generally you can choose any of your numbers but there are some rare exceptions. If you have an existing Broadband ADSL service and wish to change service providers then please contact both your new and existing service provider to have this service transferred.

    I want 8mb Broadband

My ISP are awful. They won't let me migrate out to another company.

Any ISP recommendations? No limits or stupid prices. I'm with Supanet.
