Looks like a Necrophorus investigator, one of the burrying beetles, I've always known it as the Corpse or Sexton Beetle. They can very often be seen in large numbers on dead animals etc.

Yup, the longer, pointy ended abdomen distinguishes it from N. vespilloides
They frequently turn up after I've been cleaning game or poultry.
I catch a few of these in my moth trap every time I run it at present. If irritated they give off a very strong pungent smell which is unpleasant to say the least.
