    Default Acer laptop

    Please can someone help?
My hubbys laptop is not working so is sharing my netbook!
It won't power up, looks like the bit the adapter goes into isn't working, can anyone help, please?

Does it power up with the battery (or is the battery dead)? Why do you think it's the socket the adapter goes into (is it loose for example)?
    Kind regards,

    hi,

the batteries dead at the moment. up until recently it was all working fine. Only think its got something to do with the power socket as there seems to be no power getting through to start up the lappie. Have tried the adaptor on the netbook we have and all works well there.

take the battery out and try it on the power supply alone.
could be the battery has gone down & dragging the voltage too low.

typically you will only get 2-3yrs from a battery pack, esp if you never run till flat once a month.
